Earn Money Online
Obviously, the most common vehicle to make money online is a Website. There are infinite varieties of making money on the internet with a website. Here are just some basics, but pretty much everything is some version of one of these.
1. Sell your own product. This is pretty self explanatory. You have a product, you want to use the internet to market your product. Sounds easy enough.
2. Sell other peoples products. This is pretty cut and dry as well. Take somebody else's product, mark it up, and resell it. Another version of this is to refer visitors from your site to someone else's sales page. They sell the product and give you a commission. This is Affiliate Marketing. This usually works out pretty well for both parties.
3. Have an information site. You can make money a couple of different ways with this. You can put contextual ads such as AdSense on your site. They pay you every time someone clicks on that link. An example of this is on the bottom of this page. You can also place banners or any kind of advertising on your site and have people pay per impression (when it's seen) or when it's clicked (when someone actually clicks through). You can have these on a landing page which people go to before they enter your site, or on your site itself. You can even ask for donations. There are plenty of ways to get creative and earn money online with an information site.
Basically every form of website falls somewhere in one of these categories or any combination of the three.
No matter what type of website you have, the most important task is to get customers to your website. Without visitors, you have nothing, nada, zilch. You can have the greatest products in the world and a fabulous website to showcase it, but if customers don't see it you've got nothing. How are you supposed to earn money online if nobody knows your there?
You need to get customers. This is called driving traffic. Just driving traffic to your site isn't enough. You need "targeted traffic".
Targeted traffic is visitors coming to your site looking for what you have. If you sell cars and you have a page on VW Bug's and someone comes to your site looking for information on Egyptian Beetles, they are not going to be interested in what you have. That is not "Targeted Traffic".
Targeted Traffic = Customers
Customers = Sales
Sales = your Wife Is Happy
