Drop Shipping - The One Thing NOT To Do When Looking For Sources
I have been studying this approach to online retail for more than two years. I have found there are a lot of companies willing to take advantage of your inexperience with offers that leave little or no chance of finding a profitable product to sell.
Do NOT, ever, use a company advertising itself as a drop ship supplier.
If you can order products directly from the company for sale to your customers, pass. Just don't do it.
I know you're thinking that can't be true. There's an exception to every rule and this company XYZ says...
Don't believe it. If there is an exception I haven't found it and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has looked harder than I.
Even if there is, do you want risk being wrong 99% of the time? It will cost you time and money. In this game you have very little of that to waste.
A company that advertises itself as a direct supplier of products for drop shipping is, in my experience, one of three things:
1. Not a drop shipper. Instead they have figured out one way or another to funnel affiliate or rebate profits through a system.
2. Middle men. They have partnered with wholesale suppliers that will ship products to your customer.
3. A savvy wholesaler that has created a division, or even separate company, to target you and sell their products at a much higher price than they do to their true wholesale customers.
Pay close attention because this will save you time and money.
There is a difference between a company that supplies product and one that connects you with suppliers. You want the company that connects you with suppliers.
Not a company that gives you a just a list. Not a company that handles the shipment of the products for you.
Only go with a company that has developed a relationship with drop ship suppliers and has a reputation that will help you when making contact with the suppliers they connect you with.
